Great site! Thanks for doing all these diagrams! My son, Ethan, was born with multiple CHDs. His are heterotaxy, pulmonary atresia, single ventricle, right aortic arch, DORV, ASD, VSD, tetralogy of fallot, transposition of great arteries, MAPCAs, and repaired TAPVR. He had a conduit placed at his aorta to connect his MAPCAs (collateral arteries). I know this is a lot, so I’ve never been able to have a good drawing of what his heart actually looks like. Is there a way this could be drawn up so I could help other people understand him better? Thanks so much! Our blog is http://bradleyhearts.blogspot.com.

    • Katrina Bradley

He also has dextrocardia – sorry I forgot to include this in his original explanation. And his conduit is from his pulmonary veins (mapcas) to his RV, not his aorta. :) Thanks!

Wow, this is amazing! How do I go about getting a diagram done about my Son? Do you have a donations page??
Harry is 3 and was born with HLHS, TGA, DORV, several VSDs, AVSD, Mitral valve regurgitation. He has had PDA banding, mitral valve ligation and his Glenn shunt done so far.. It would be great to explain to all the junior doctors when they see him at our local hospital as they all look blank whenever we have to go in, 9Which is usually every couple of weeks…) You are truly amazing!
    Best regards
    Sam

    • http://www.heartbabyhome.com HeartBabyHome

I actually added a donations button to my sidebar today – feel free to donate if you want.
I have several questions about your heart request:
1-did you mean “pulmonary artery” banding rather than “patent ductus arteriosus” banding?
2-is the “Glenn shunt” a stage 1 Glenn (so not the bi-directional Glenn yet, right?)
I’ve added your heart image request to my todo list…..#63

I just posted a heart image for you: http://www.heartbabyhome.com/2013/05/61-truncus-arteriosus-raa-ps/ However, I had in my notes that the ASD and VSD were repaired, too. Is that correct? I can change it back so it has the asd and vsd again if I need to. Please let me know. Also, feel free to treat me to a drink if you wanna say thanks (paypal donation link near the top left of the page). thanks!

  • http://www.heartbabyhome.com HeartBabyHome

Corinne – I just want to double check her diagnosis as I’d hate to get it wrong on a tattoo! Tell me if this is right: HLHS, malposition (D) of the Great Arteries, pulmonary stenosis (is this at the valve or below the valve or both?), DORV, TAPVR, with bi-Glenn and Fontan with Fenstration. Does she have dextrocardia with the heterotaxy?
I noticed on your blog there was mention of an unbalanced AVSD but you didn’t include it here. Should I add it in or was it found to be not really that after she was born.
    Let me know – thanks.

  • http://www.heartbabyhome.com HeartBabyHome

Is the TAPVR above or below or behind the heart?

  • http://www.facebook.com/desire.coopermiller Desiré Cooper Miller

My unborn son (due in less than 8 weeks!) has a DILV, HRHS, L-TGA with a hypoplastic aorta (they believe his is about 2/3 normal size) and coarctation of the aorta. I would love an image of his heart to help others better see what’s going with it and be able to better explain it. There’s one on your page that is similar, but I don’t believe it had the hypoplastic aorta. Here’s the facebook page we have for him: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pray-for-Caleb/385810801497605?ref=hl

Okay – this is complex, lol . A cervical right aortic arch with an aberrant left subclavian artery and a diverticulum of Kommerell (creating a vascular ring) and a long segment coarctation of the right transverse arch (behind the trachea) and a left thoracic descending aorta. Seriously, we are having a hard time picturing this hot mess of a heart because it’s extremely rare, if ever seen at all.

Love the website. Image of TAPVR (supracardiac) is very helpful. If possible, can a TAPVR cardiac with a return via the coronary sinus, ASD and VSD be added? This is my daughter’s diagnosis and the mechanics are a little different than TAPVR supracardiac….

It depends on how many hearts are ahead of yours and how busy I am. If you need your heart by a certain date, you should definitely let me know. Otherwise, just check back in a few days to see your number and wait for your number to get to the top of the list.

My daughter has the following: -
    Dextrocardia
Situs solitus with AV and VA concordance
    Dextro rotation of the heart
    Outlet muscular VSD
    Multiple apical muscular VSDs
Sub pulmonary and pulmonary valve stenosis
    Left SVS to cononary sinus
and finally Hepatics veins directly to the right atrium.
Please could you do a drawing/picture of this please if possible, as it will be a great help to show her school teachers etc, as she starts full-time school soon.
